Back in the glorious 80's!

Hello!
My name is Dave and I used to visit Thassos for about four years in the 80's. There was a group of guys, Mervin, Barry, Phil, Tom, Alex and Ken always staying in Thassos town. We all agree that they were the bestest holidays we had I sort of fell across this site and having read lots of the messages it almost felt like I was stepping back in time
The Esperedis bar was was a popular haunt for us and every-time I hear the song "I wanna know what love is" by foreigner I'm back propping that bar up singing along .... We used to go to Lenny's bar on the corner, a perfect place for an Ouzo with Niko and watching the world pass you by! Oh and some fantastic nights with Nina and Mark!
I wanted to add some pictures, so I'll give it ago (wish me luck) maybe you will remember some of the faces .... I do have more lol

I first went to Thassos in 1982; it was my first real holiday with friends and it was with a company called Young World (18-30s) and I went with 5 girls and 1 guy cos his friends dropped out! We stayed in Olympus House and used to go to the Esperides Bar (remember listening to the Cure's close to me) then on to the Just in Time and go from club to club. The Journey to get there back in the day was extremely long - off the plane, on to a coach for hours and hours, stopping somewhere on route and 3am in the morning for chicken and chips then back on the coach to kavala to catch the ferry across to Limenas (thassos old town) in the just in time at 9am in the morning to be told where you were going to stay! Great times! Went back a few years later and still had a great time - love this Island though it seems like it has changed so much now but would still love to go back sometime.
